Cataract surgery is the most common surgery performed in the UK with over 300,000 carried out annually. Cataracts are small cloudy patches which develop on the eye lens. Typically they develop in older people, however there have been cases in which younger people have also developed the eye condition. Because the subsequent blurred vision will affect sight, many patients agree to cataract surgery in which the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with an artificial one.
Cataract surgery is also not without risk and similar problems to those arising from RLE surgery.
If you have experienced problems after your cataract surgery you could be intitled to make a surgical negligence claim and receive compensation.
