Karen works in all areas of medical negligence, however, she has specific experience of dealing with surgical errors, misdiagnosis of illnesses to include cancer, birth injuries either by way of incorrect procedures during labour or as a result of medication prescribed during pregnancy causing birth defects.

Karen deals with cases involving serious injury to clients, Karen has extensive experience involving injuries to the bowels, failure to consent patients to operations, and she also has a significant caseload dealing with patients who have suffered injury as a result of laser eye surgery or refractive lens exchange.

Karen has experience representing families of loved ones at inquests involving deaths in hospital, care homes and work places.

Karen is currently leading the team who represent a significant number of people who have been affected by a defect in the Intraocular lens they had inserted into their eyes. The claims are being brought against the manufacturer of the lenses, Oculentis.

Karen appreciates that an injury can have a devastating impact not only on the life of the injured party but also their wider family. Karen enjoys helping those who are injured to take the next steps back to leading a life as close to the life they led before the injury. If this is not possible, Karen aims to get them as much compensation as required to assist in their future.

Karen assists a young girl and her family in obtaining compensation for her schooling, care and treatment now and into the future. Karen’s client was born with significant birth defects as a result of negligence.

Karen assists a client to obtain compensation as a result of a failure to diagnose an infection leading to significant bowel damage meaning our client required a Stoma.

Karen assists a client in a claim for negligence arising out of a failure to provide treatment in hospital. As a result of the negligence our client suffered extensive injuries to include bilateral nerve palsy, ureteric injury and bowel damage. Our client may have a significant claim for loss of earnings.

Karen represents a significant number of clients who are bringing claims against the manufacturer of a lens which is said to be faulty and causing visual loss.
